Anders Franke

Anders Franke is a 2012 Elk River graduate. Anders started in net with the Elks for 4 years where he broke the Elk River High School hockey record for most career starts as a goalie at 106 starts. During his time with the Elks, Franke was named to the Northwest Suburban All-Conference award 4 years in a row. After his freshman season, he was selected to attend the Warren Strelow United States National Development Goalie Camp with a select amount of goalies across the country in his birth year. During his junior season, Anders was drafted by the Fargo Force (USHL) and Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL). His senior year he was drafted by the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL). Franke was named one of the captains his senior year for the Elks and was also awarded to the All-Metro team as the top goalie in the metro area.

Following his playing days with the Elks, Anders decided to play two years of junior hockey with the Flint Jr. Generals (NA3HL). During his time in Flint, Anders was named Goalie of the Year and 1st team All NA3HL during the 2013-2014 season. His last season in Flint, he took his team to Hartford, Connecticut to compete in the Tier 3 National Championship.

After his junior hockey career, Anders decided to attend Saint John’s University where he ended up hanging the skates up. Franke is currently studying business at Saint John’s. Anders is entering his 2nd year as the Goaltending coach with the Elks. Franke also helps out with St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey (D1 – WCHA) and the Granite City Lumberjacks (NA3HL). Anders is one of the lead instructors for MEGA Goaltending.

Anders brings a young mindset to the table from his extensive playing career and experience from coaching at the youth and high school levels. His effective techniques and aspect of the game bring another element to the MEGA Goaltending staff.
